Montreal Canadiens Odds & Predictions 2015/2016

In Hockey, by on Oct 07, 2015
The Montreal Canadiens have set a high standard for themselves ever since Marc Bergevin became general manager of the club. Since joining the club in 2012, the team has gone from basement standings to consistently challenging for the Stanley Cup. They are considered one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference and were close to the Stanley Cup finals in 2014 if it wasn't for Chris Kreider going skates first into Carey Price.montreal canadiens

  • Montreal Canadiens - Total Points - Alex Galchenyuk over 52.5 -120 at Bodog

  • Montreal Canadiens - Total Points - Max Pacioretty over 63.5 -120 at Bodog
Predictions: Therien needs to win the East to be coach of the year and that's no guarantee. Bergevin will only be GM of the year if Semin can score 25 or more goals AND rehab kid Kassian can clean up his act and add in 20 goals himself. If either one of these players slips up then forget about it. It's a risky bet to pick him and odds for Lamouriello are better and safer. Galchenyuk at centre should be able to add in points and expect him to be a bigger player this year and that will carry well with Gallagher. Pacioretty should still be scoring the goals so 64 or more points is a safe bet. Winning the cup, this futures bet is a risky one as there are really too many good teams in the NHL which will include teams to beat in the west like LA Kings, Chicago Blackhawks and Anaheim Ducks (who were predicted to win the cup through EA Sports simulation).

Where to bet on Hockey

bovada hockey Last year the team struggled in the playoffs against the Tampa Bay Lightning, a team that had their number the whole season but to give that team credit, they went on to the Stanley Cup finals so they were a better team last year. Montreal's problems last season were goal scoring and the team thinks the have addressed that this year picking up players like Alexander Semin and Zack Kassian although Kassian broke his nose and foot in a drunken car accident that is certainly going to hurt his already tarnished reputation. It remains to be seen if he can turn it around and the Montreal Canadiens team seems to be filled with leaders and role models. You don't hear of a party reputation in the Habs locker room and even players like PK Subban keeps things ultra professional admitting to only a single glass of red wine in a day. bodog hockey The Habs have the best goalie in the league which nobody will argue after last season. Their defense remains solid and it's up to a player like PK Subban to dominate and seems he has the potential to take things to another level. Their offense was called into question the entire season and Max Pacioretty is expected to score his 30-40 goals per year but they need more out of players like Gallagher, Galchenyuk, Eller and with Semin nobody knows what they'll get although he's acknowledged as an extreme talent. On a 1 year contract and already have been given millions in the bank, he can probably play without pressure other than wanting to earn another big contract so for $1 million, this deal doesn't seem like a risk but more like a smart bargain. Zack Kassian is expected to add a big body to the front of the net and add in some goals but he's off to a horrible start as a Hab and his teammates all point out he made a big mistake and bad judgement call on his part but know it's up to him to turn things around.
